Policies and agreement
All renters and drivers must hold a valid driving license recognized in Sri Lanka. Foreign visitors must present either:
• A valid International Driving Permit (IDP), or
• A temporary Sri Lankan driving permit issued by local authorities.
The license must be valid for the entire rental period. Pearl Roads reserves the right to refuse rental if documentation is incomplete or invalid.
All Pearl Roads vehicles include basic insurance coverage as required by Sri Lankan law.
Insurance typically covers:
• Third-party liability coverage
• Basic vehicle damage protection
However, renters remain responsible for:
• Damage caused by negligence or reckless driving
• Tire, windshield, interior, or underbody damage
• Traffic violations and fines
Additional insurance upgrades may be available upon request to reduce liability.
Pearl Roads accepts the following payment methods:

• Cash payments (on approval)
A refundable security deposit may be required at the time of booking or vehicle pickup.
Bookings can be modified or canceled subject to the following:
• Free cancellation available up to 48 hours before pickup
• Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges
• Date changes depend on vehicle availability
We recommend notifying us early to avoid charges.
To maintain vehicle cleanliness:
• Smoking inside vehicles is strictly prohibited
• Pets are allowed only with prior approval
• Cleaning fees may apply if vehicles are returned excessively dirty or damaged
Drivers must meet the following criteria:
• Minimum driver age: 21 years
• Drivers under 25 years may incur a young driver surcharge
• A minimum driving experience of 1 year is required
Luxury or specialty vehicles may require higher age limits.
